"Our family of addiction recovery professionals is dedicated to assessing the need for and providing high quality services. We are motivated by the values of honesty, integrity, commitment, and dedication."

Columbia Community Mental Health's Addictions Department provides services for adolescents, adults and families who are experiencing problems related to alcohol, drugs and gambling. CCMH has five separate clinics in Columbia County. There are site offices in Scappoose, Rainier, Clatskanie, Vernonia and the main facility in St. Helens.

Often seen as an individual issue, chemical dependency and gambling costs all of us through increased health issues, destruction of the family system, injury and hospitalization, lost financial and social benefits.

The CCMH Addictions Department offers high quality assessments and treatment services to the adolescents, adults and families. Assessments are performed for the purpose of intake into the program or can be requested by other agencies for their needs and uses. These comprehensive assessment services are designed to offer information about a person's alcohol and/or drug abuse problems and history. The assessment concludes with a diagnosis, the appropriate level of care and treatment recommendations.

Substance use and dependency services available to adolescents include intensive outpatient and day treatment. Outpatient youth services are available in most of the five clinics. Day treatment for the youth is available in the St. Helens Creekside Center facility with the added option of Proctor Parent homes if the need arises. Families are encouraged to participate in the youth's treatment.

Substance use and dependency services available to the adults include intensive outpatient and residential treatment. Outpatient adult services are offered in all five CCMH clinics in Columbia County. In St. Helens there is a 16-bed co-ed residential facility. Families are encouraged to participate in the client's treatment.

Problem gambling services are available in outpatient and short-term residential respite. The outpatient services are available in Columbia and Clatsop County. The short-term respite care is available in St. Helens.

Individual and family therapy are often provided to support the work being done in groups. Families have an opportunity to help in the recovery process, and to learn to interact more positively as a family.

Our program is designed to work clients eligible for medical cards and self-pay. We also work on a sliding scale. We also work with voluntary or mandated clients.

Our staff is comprised of professionals whose blend of experience and education provides an unusually high opportunity for success in addiction recovery.
